James Axon B.Sc., B.A, M.Arch
Senior Associate, Senior Contract Administrator
James came to Architecture through an interest in Biomimetics and their applications in design. This formed a substantial part of his thesis and diploma work in conjunction with the study of green systems and environmental design.
James ran a successful model making company for several years in England and had the good fortune to work on a lot of interesting and complex projects around the world that has provided him with experience on a range of building types – theatres, schools, residence, industrial, convents. In model‐making James learned how to imagine a building not only three dimensionally, but as an object evolving through time – a series of important steps that need to be completed in the correct order. He has an intuitive grasp on how things fit together and how they need to function and work together.
James emigrated to Canada in June 2010 with his wife and two dogs. James interests include mountaineering and backpacking, reading, and walking the dogs as often as possible looking for animals and following animal tracks. He enjoys travel and has climbed alps in Austria, seen Orang‐utans in Borneo, eaten Durian in Singapore and swam with dolphins in New Zealand.
He loves to draw and has work in a number of galleries in Nova Scotia including Argyle Fine Art.
