The Simmons Sport Center is a new multi-use community recreation complex designed to serve as a year-round hub for Charlottetown. The facility provides an NHL-size ice surface supporting figure skating, hockey, short track, curling, and recreational skating. In the summer, the ice surface is removed and the arena transforms into a flexible indoor venue capable of hosting concerts, exhibitions, and community events. The site also includes a six-lane outdoor 25-metre lap pool, offering much-needed seasonal aquatic amenities for the surrounding area.

The 60,000 sq. ft. building features an elevated indoor walking track, a warm viewing area, multipurpose community rooms, change facilities, officials’ rooms, and food service spaces. The building is designed to support a wide range of community users, including athletes, schools, clubs, and families.
